Hello, I'm Sarah - thank you for finding the time to reach my page! It comes as a shock to some but believe it or not i don't actually come from a hair dressing background- i jumped straight into occasion and bridal hair styling. I figured there was an opening for updo stylists in the area, who specialised in just occasion/bridal styling especially with the abundance of wedding venues in the area.. and that's when my hair story started!
Having had horses since being a little girl, i was always able to plait hair, but decided to advance my skills by booking onto a hair updo course with the talented Sam Gately in 2019. From here Sam taught me the basics to create updo's, to which i practised and practised on anyone and everyone! Once covid hit, it was an uncertain time for the wedding industry, however once weddings received the go ahead it was action stations and although new to the industry i was able to lend a hand to many other stylists who were unable to reschedule/honour their brides booking due to bookings already in their diary, and soon my diary became full with brides in need of a stylist for their rearranged weddings!
I have been extremely lucky that since covid, my diary has always been full and i have had the pleasure of styling many brides and their bridal parties over the past 5 years. My job has taken me all over the country , from the Lake District to Wales and everywhere in between - but now i like to stay closer to home and offer my services within the Ribble Valley and surrounding areas.
I am always keen to expand my hair styling knowledge and techniques, as the desired and trending styles within the industry are always changing. Over the past 5 years I have completed workshops and online training with Sam Gately, Hannah Taylor, Bethan Steers and Paige Lauren. Hair styling is one thing you can never learn enough of to be able to cater to all hair types!
Outside of work my time is filled with running around after our toddler, Hugo, looking after; our two pooches Tinkerbell and Lyla, our lovely horse Big Eric, and our five little chickens who live in our garden - there is never a dull moment and always something to do!
